” Kindness is love in action, love translated into simple everyday terms. It’s being considerate of others. ”
” Kindness is one of the hardest things to give away, because it’s nearly always returned. ”
” Kindness costs nothing, but can accomplish so much. “
Opportunities for Kindness
A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves. —Amelia Earhart (1897–1937)
The deepest principle in human nature is the craving to be appreciated. —William James (1842–1910)
Treat a man as he appears to be, and you make him worse. But treat a man as if he already were what he potentially could be, and you make him what he should be. —Johann von Goethe (1749–1832)
Be Kind
Treat everyone with politeness, even those who are rude to you—not because they are nice, but because you are. —Anonymous
If you haven’t any charity in your heart, you have the worst kind of heart trouble. —Bob Hope (1903–2003)
Communication with God
“God finds ways to communicate with those who truly seek Him,” Christian author Philip Yancey wrote, “especially when we lower the volume of the surrounding static.”
“When you come aside from temporal things which distract and harass you, and there in the presence of God you put your mind on the things of God, His majesty & glory, then the transforming power of God begins to work.”
Can God Speak to Us?
God is by definition the omnipotent creator of the universe, the source of our being. It’s nonsense to say that this omnipotent being could exist without being able to communicate with His own creatures!—That “nobody can know” whether he’s real or not.
He can, He did, and He does. He’s not a divine deaf-mute. He does speak to us, and just as wonderfully, He listens to us—maybe a bit more keenly than we listen to Him, judging by the state of the world.
